What a wild ride real estate has been in the past few years! COVID kept us inside and renovating, but we mostly stayed put. The lack of homes on the market caused prices to go sky high, causing more than a few to cash in and sell. Now the situation has settled down, but not fully.
This issue has some advice from local experts on how and when to sell your home, what to do beforehand, and how to really understand the price of the home you are leaving or buying. Plus we give some advice on mortgaging your home.
We don’t claim to know all the answers but we’ll get you started.
On another subject, we here at Denton County magazine are all smiles and tempted to say a nice version of “I told you so!” to our readers. On the cover of our September- October 2022 issue was a photo of the University of North Texas basketball team in dunk action with the headline “Nothing But Net!” We also had these words on our cover: “UNT is building an elite basketball program and attracting fans. North Texans are learning that football is not the only game in town.”
Well, it turns out: Our theme and story was right on the money.
On March 30, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, UNT won the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) championship. Way to go Mean Green!
I was lucky enough to attend a couple of basketball games at the Super Pit in March. I yelled my fool head off and had a blast.
All this is another reason why I’m glad to live in Denton County. Celebrate!
