ANDERSON ROOFING & CONTRACTING
A family-owned and operated business has reached new heights in the roofing industry.
In an industry that has its share of fly-by-night companies, Anderson Roofing & Contracting in Bartonville has withstood the test of time, wild economies and even a pandemic. The business opened in 2000 and has been family owned and operated from the start. Mark and Tina Anderson have made it their business to run the company ethically, with the level of customer service they would expect for themselves.
“We have many return customers who’ve been loyal to us through the years for roofing and other home services, even when they move to other residences,” Mark said.
In addition to commercial and residential roofing repair and replacement, the Andersons expanded their menu a couple of years ago to include siding, gutters, painting and other services. It made sense to update the name from its original Anderson Roofing to Anderson Roofing & Contracting, reflecting these additional offerings.
As if putting a roof over Denton County residents wasn’t keeping them busy enough, the team has been called for jobs throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Austin and even San Antonio.
Roofing is a tough job under the open sky and relentless Texas sun, and Mark knows this firsthand. “At 14, I helped out at the family automotive business in hometown Amarillo, and I learned the roofing business later, while working for a friend.” he said. “I began in sales, then overseeing jobs and crews, but I chose to be on roofs with them, putting on shingles and learning everything about the trade the best way – hands on.”
The couple has been married for 44 years, having met through their families when Tina was barely a teenager. “We always knew we could succeed working together at a business of our own,” Tina said. “I run the office, and Mark does the majority of sales these days.” Three of the couple’s four children also work for the company. One daughter, Lezlie Andrew, handles marketing and social media, and another daughter, Leah Harney, is the bookkeeper. Their son Chad Anderson oversees jobs. Daughter Sarah Villanueva is not involved in the day-to-day operation of the business.
Most of their work crew has been with the company since the beginning, “and they’re part of our extended family,” Mark said. “It’s important to us that we pay them every Friday, even if we don’t get paid. They’re fully-licensed professionals who undergo additional training in any new techniques that are developed.”
Customer service is the company’s top priority, Tina said. “No matter what, all of our customers deserve the best we can deliver, and that’s what they receive,” she said.
